While a listing agent will handle the business of selling a home to a qualified buyer, the buyer agent will work with prospective buyers in order to qualify them for a mortgage loan. Listing agents typically charge a small commission for each sale they help close.


Listing agents do not deal directly with the sellers of real property. They will work with the sellers in an effort to find qualified buyers for the homes that are for sale. Some listing agencies charge a fee for each sale that they help close while others do not charge any listing commission. Listing agencies do, however, help sell homes and can help buyers find qualified sellers for their homes.
